GDRS Profile
Founded in 1991, General Dynamics
Robotic Systems (GDRS) has emerged as a world leader
in tactical robotics and automated systems development.
Our key engineers have 20 years experience in robotic
systems development and GDRS has been awarded more
military robotics projects than any other company
in the last decade.
We have pushed the envelope on robotics technology,
from teleoperated vehicles to semi-autonomous operations,
such as the Mobile Detection Assessment and Response
(MDARS) system, to developing the intelligent system
(Autonomous Navigation System) for manned and unmanned
vehicles in the Army's Future Combat System.
In the last decade we have grown
more than 10-fold, adding capabilities, staff and
expertise to keep pace with the rapid development
of our technology. From $4 million in revenue in
1991 to over $100 million in annual sales, GDRS is constantly seeking new opportunities
to test our engineering mettle. Purchased in 1999
by General Dynamics Land Systems, GDRS has nearly 500
employees and six facilities throughout Maryland
and Pennsylvania.
